At Beyond Behavior Therapy, we specialize in focused, evidence-based support for children and young adults who already have many strengths but need targeted guidance in areas such as social communication, emotional regulation, flexible thinking, peer interactions, daily routines, and executive functioning. “Focused” means we work intentionally on a small number of meaningful, high-impact goals that align with your child’s values, interests, and natural motivation, ensuring that progress feels relevant, empowering, and sustainable.

Our approach is holistic, progressive, and deeply individualized. Every session is provided directly by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), allowing for responsive in-the-moment adjustments, strength-based teaching, and thoughtful consideration of the learner’s internal experiences, sensory profile, developmental stage, and cultural or family context. We integrate the science of Applied Behavior Analysis with naturalistic developmental strategies, acceptance- and values-based practices, and trauma-informed care, creating a therapeutic process that honors the whole child rather than focusing only on surface behaviors.

We also offer school-based collaboration and consultation, including classroom observation, IEP support, behavior plan refinement, and strategies that help educators respond to students with compassion and effectiveness. By partnering closely with teachers, aides, and school BCBAs, we help create consistency across environments and ensure that evidence-based supports are practical to implement and aligned with a student’s actual needs in the classroom.

Our services are available in person throughout Santa Cruz and the South Bay Area, with Telehealth options offered statewide across California. This allows us to bring skilled, compassionate, BCBA-led care directly to the spaces where children live, learn, and grow.
